Intermediate-depth seismicity in southern Mexico. The orange symbols represent earthquakes with depths between 50 and 10 km, while the yellow ones are earthquakes with depths greater than 100 km. In this area, hypocentral depths never exceed 300 km. Also, notice that in the westernmost part of the map, the seismicity no longer follows the pattern of being perpendicular to the trench.
