Abstract

A new species of the genus Pycnodonte Fischer de Waldheini; 1835, of the Family Gryphaeidae and six other species of bivalves are described from the Tuxpan Formation of middle Miocene age of the northern part of the State of Veracruz. The new species is compared with the known species of the genus of the Tertiary Caribbean Molluscan Faunal Province.
